Respond to Music

The use of Music as a means of expression has been well documented. This innovative service continues to expand and comes highly recommended from families and professionals who have experienced the programme.

"Touching the strings at the centre of my heart"was how one person with dementia described this programme which is aimed at enabling older people with dementia to communicate their views and wishes.

Additional funding from Lloyds TSB has enabled Age Concern to expand the service by training family carers who look after someone with dementia to use the programme at home.

The Respond to Music training package has been supplied to care staff working in the statutory and independent sector to enable other care providers to deliver the programme.
