Actively Ageing Well
Key Achievements Document

Actively Ageing Well began in 2002 as a focused five year community development initiative. It aimed to provide and promote a range of safe, sustainable opportunities to increase physical activity for older people aged 50 plus with community and older people’s organisations.

Developed and delivered in partnership with the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland, Actively Ageing Well has supported 60 groups throughout Northern Ireland to increase levels of Physical Activity with Older People.

in 2006 the partnership produced a Key Achievements Document highlighting the significant impact the initiaitive has had in improving the lives of older people. Funding
Funding for Actively Ageing Well was secured from the Big Lottery Fund with additional funding from Down & Lisburn Health & Social Services Trust, North and West Belfast Health & Social Services Trust, Craigavon & Banbridge Health & Social Services Trust and the Northern Area Partnership for Physical Activity.
