19th October 2008

Whether it’s the traditional roast or a light bite, it’s hard to beat a good Sunday Lunch. Unless it’s a Sunday Lunch that will directly improve the lives of older people this winter.

Age Concern Northern Ireland invites you to get involved in its Great Sunday Lunch Campaign. On 19th October we’re asking people from across the UK to have Sunday Lunch with family and friends to help raise money to help our older people. The Great Sunday Lunch aims to highlight the issue of social isolation for older people in our community for whom Sunday Lunch can often be a difficult and lonely time, and we welcome your support.

Local good food ambassador Jenny Bristow is encouraging us to cook up a feast and raise funds for Age Concern Northern Ireland.

Jenny said “Sunday Lunch is a time for those around the table to share food, it is one of lifes greatest pleasures whatever the choice of meal. Age Concern’s Great Sunday Lunch is a unique opportunity to come together to share and eat at home, at work and in restaurants and hotels”
