In our lobbying and advocacy work we adopt the position of ‘critical friend’ supporting government when they have done well and are making progress on key issues, but also challenging hard where we see injustice and unfairness. One of our values is independence and this remains our paramount consideration in our relations with public bodies, policy makers and politicians. ACNI actively promotes the interests of older people to decision-makers and influencers across the political spectrum and works hard to promote local campaigns, raise older people’s issues and concerns within the political agenda and influence policy.
